A new blog ...

... from a new blogger, near and dear to my heart. Give it a look, and give her her some encouragement. Or else....

Update: Guys, the idea was for you to offer encouragement over on her blog.

Aw. Look at my sweet boy threatening to beat people up for me. That's just the cutest.

How does one make strawberry soup?

2.5 lbs strawberries (frozen or fresh)
2 cups heavy cream
2 ounces sour cream
.5 cup plain yogurt
.5 lbs fresh strawberries

1. slowly cook down 2.5 lbs of strawberries until thick and syrupy (15-20 minutes?). I'll also throw in a few tablespoons of brown sugar and a couple small splashes of balsamic vinegar. Finish with just a little freshly (and very finely) ground black pepper. This is also how I toppings for shortcake or waffles. The black pepper enhances the strawberry flavor, but should not taste peppery, so add a little at a time.

2. Let it cool slightly, then blur in a food processor or blender.

3. Thoroughly mix in all other ingredients.

4. Chill. Garnish with sliced strawberries and serve. (Skip the sliced strawberries and no one will notice)

**it's a recipe from Disney's Grand Floridian--it's on the buffet line at the 1900 Park Fare. The Daughter took scissors to the recipe sheet and all I have left are the ingredients. They call for 2.5 lbs of strawberry topping and I've given you my recipe for that.

Thanks for the recipe, Bill. I looked in my Chef Mickey cookbook to see if I had the rest of the recipe for you, but no luck. I guess I will just have to convince my darling Icepick to take me to lunch some afternoon when we're at the parks. (Since we live nearby, we get annual passes.)

Speaking of strawberries, did my DH ever mention the tasty strawberries and basil we got at Epcot's Food & Wine Festival last year? So. Good.

Hi Pooh. Feel free to visit my blog often and make random comments about Martin, or anything else, whenever you want. I promise to write about my books and reading habits soon.

I did not mention them. Nor did I mention my favorite wine from the show, because it's a secret.
