Subjective Presidential Campaign Reporting

This has nothing to do with the MSM news organizations. This is my subjective reporting of bare-boned facts. Today I spent a good deal of time driving around Winter Park and Orlando. I saw many more Obama yard signs than McCain yard signs. I'd put it at about 4-1, maybe more, in favor of Obama. It's subjective just because my path was semi-random.

It's a little hard to believe Obama won't prevail. Putting everything else aside, it's useful to recall that this really was a Democratic year, an election that was the Democrats' to lose. Certainly, things got a bit more complicated than that. But they got more complicated on both sides, as it turns out, so perhaps it's a wash and the original default re-emerges.

In any case, I for one am glad to able to start the one-month countdown. It'll be a relief to know how it comes out, get over it either way and then move on.

I don't think this one will be so easy to get over. The next President is likely to be a up-to-date version of Herbert Hoover. These two are so astonishingly inadequate for the tasks at hand. (For various reasons, their VP candidates are even worse.) I'm considering burying my head in the sand for the next four years.
